Classic All Blacks to play Spanish Leones at the Wanda Metropolitano in May 2022

Madrid, 8th April 2021 – The current health crisis prevents for the second consecutive year the celebration of the rugby match at the Wanda Metropolitano between the Spanish rugby team and the Classic All Blacks.

The postponement of sporting events such as the Tokyo Olympic Games, the European Football Championship or the New Zealand Women’s Rugby World Cup should help us understand that the situation is not yet stable enough to hold a sporting event with all the necessary sanitary and protective measures for the public. Kiwi House has been working intensively with local government, health authorities and Atlético de Madrid, which has forced us to extend the long-awaited match between the Classic All Blacks and the Spanish Rugby Team for another year.

Here at KiwiHouse we ask for your patience in what is to come. Sports events with social distancing and without social element that characterizes our sport are not our ideal scenario, so we are putting all our efforts into being part of the history of Spanish rugby with the celebration of a historic match.

The commitment to Spanish rugby is not only ours, New Zealand Rugby or the Classic All Blacks. Our dream of seeing rugby posts installed at the Wanda Metropolitano stadium and a historic game held will not stop until it is fulfilled.

The new date will be communicated once the draw for the calendar of the 2021-2022 season of professional soccer league has been confirmed. Existing tickets will be valid for those who maintain the desire to hold out for another year until match day. What we can tell you is that the game will be held on a Saturday, towards the end of May in 2022.

We are working on something that will be bigger than ever, full of surprises that rugby fans cannot miss.

We are going to be back, because this game cannot be missed.
